Have you ever wondered what it feels like to stand where Lord Hanuman once did? Ek taraf Ramayana ki kahani, aur doosri taraf Himachal ki unta med beauty! Welcome to Manki Point, the highest spot in Kasauli, where mythology, nature and breathtaking views come together for a legendary experience! If you're looking for places to visit in Kasauli, this one tops the list!
Manki Point and its Ramayana connection
It is believed that during Ramayana, when Lord Laxman was severely injured while fighting Indrajit, the son of Ravana, the only cure was the Sanjeevani Booti (Selaginella bryopteris), a mystical herb said to have life-restoring powers. Lord Hanuman was sent to retrieve it, but to be sure he didn’t pick the wrong herb, he lifted the entire Dronagiri Parvat instead.
According to legend, while transporting the mountain, his right foot touched this very spot, Manki Point, now the highest point in Kasauli. Today, a Hanuman temple stands atop the hill, offering breathtaking views of Shimla, Chail, and the majestic Dhauladhar range on one side, and Chandigarh and Panchkula on the other. No wonder it’s one of the most iconic places to visit in Kasauli !
