We want to CHange The Way India Travels
The travel industry in India is scaling higher heights every single year. In 2016, we became the 7th largest tourism economy by GDP alone. There is a recorded 15% growth in Foreign Tourist Arrivals every year; which makes the increase of jobs in the industry skyrocket. Currently, the industry supports more than 25 million jobs. And within this giant is the quickly germinating seed of the hostel industry in India. As the younger generation has started earning faster, and warming up to the idea of freedom and self-discovery – hostels in India are proving to be the hubs that host young and hip tourists. On top of that, the internet has allowed inquisitive and social media savvy individuals to make a living out of travelling, blogging, and content creating. And studies show that Gen X and millennials prefer to live in youth hostels and communal centers rather than dish out heavy money for personal hotel rooms. Moreover, 1 in every 5 international arrivals is accounted to be a young tourist; making hostels in India the next big thing. Currently with a bed strength of more than 15000 and an industry revenue generation of about 25M USD; this is predictably the beginning of something great.
But unfortunately, sometimes the yearning to see more, do more and learn more is not enough. Today’s onslaught of work, procrastination and the unavoidable circumstances of an emotional breakdown have left many a travel plans incomplete. We know, and we are sure you know, that many times; friends are gathered, plans are made and the execution always falls through. Maybe because the budget becomes disproved. Maybe because the time management is incoherent. Maybe because travelling also proves to be a long drawn affair of proposals and procedures that sometime become to cumbersome to bear. Or simply because many times you do not find someone to tag along on these trips.
