Whenever the holiday season starts knocking on the door, a strange scent of FOMO spreads in the air. Suddenly, everyone feels immense pressure to do something fun, plan the ultimate trip, and make their leaves count. Goa, being the ultimate party destination, is always on the list of almost all travel enthusiasts. Needless to say, some parts of the coastal paradise (especially the commercialized beaches of North Goa) get overcrowded, loud, and unpleasant.
Now, some people prefer this vibe, while others seek a calm, relaxing, and peaceful getaway. If you’re the latter, Mandrem is where you need to be.
Despite being part of North Goa, Mandrem is a coastal fishing village known for its quiet and secluded beaches, perfect for a slow-paced, restful, and rejuvenating retreat.
What would you like in Mandrem?
- The peace and quiet
- Lack of commercialization—very few beach shacks and no water sports
- Swaying palm trees, casuarinas, and the Jamboree Creek running parallel to the beach
- Tucked-away cafes, yoga retreats, and cute resort hotels
- Rustic wooden fishing boats painted in vivid colors
- A bamboo bridge over the creek, tall trees, and white-bellied fish eagles swooping down to steal the fishermen’s catch
Did we paint an exciting picture yet? If we did, here’s the rest of the information you’ll need.
