Here’s a list of 4 treks near Kasol for beginners:
1. Rasol trek
Situated at an altitude of approximately 3048 m in the scenic Parvati Valley, Rasol is a small, quaint Himalayan village with about 70-75 houses and a population of roughly 200 people. Just 2 kms away from the overly commercialised Kasol, this untouched village of Rasol offers some breathtaking mountain views from every corner.
The starting point of the Rasol trek is another small village named Chalal. To reach Chalal from Kasol, you will need to cross the Kasol suspension bridge over the Parvati river. As you start trekking uphill to Rasol, you’ll be greeted by several plum orchards and tall pine trees lining either side of the trail. Despite the path being rocky and steep, Rasol trek is surprisingly easy and ideal for beginners.
Do not miss the wooden Jamdani temple on the way to Rasol, but remember to view it from outside as non-villagers are not allowed to enter the temple. After trekking through the green forests and enjoying the mesmerising views of the surrounding peaks, you’ll reach Rasol in about 3.5 to 4 hours. You can visit Rasol anytime of the year, as it looks heavenly in all seasons. However, the best months for Rasol trek are from April-June and October-December.

Located at an elevation of approximately 2350 m, this hidden gem is one of the most peaceful places you’ll ever visit.
Just 10 kms away from Kasol, Grahan village is accessible only by foot. The starting point of the Grahan trek is the Kasol bridge over the Parvati river. Once you cross the river, the landscape shifts to a green-brown forest with pine and deodar trees. The trail becomes steeper but the views get better with Grahan nallah flowing by your side. After about a 3-hour uphill trek, you’ll start seeing wooden houses with the gorgeous backdrop of snow-capped mountains.
On the way to the Grahan trek, the glistening Grahan waterfall is simply unmissable! The beauty of Grahan village is just beyond words, but that’s not all. It is a strictly non-alcoholic village and there is no mobile signal here, giving you a much needed break from your phone.
