Are there lockers in the dorms?
We provide lockers in the dormitories only. Every bed has an attached locker for guests to keep their valuables. It is advised that you carry a lock for the locker if needed. However, availing a padlock from the reception will be subject to availability and at an additional cost. It is advised that you carry a lock.

Does the hostel have AC in rooms?
No, air conditioning is not available at the hostel as the weather remains pleasant throughout the year.
Staff is friendly and helpful, room was clean and the common areas are welcoming and tidy. Location is up the hill from town which was nice. Very calm atmosphere.

I stayed for 3 days at Hosteller Ooty for work, the place was super amazing with a wonderful environment for working professionals, students, solo riders.. I surely recommend people to come at least once.
The Hosteller is a chain of backpacker hostels and is well suited for young backpacking travellers. As a brand, we do not recommend families and do not allow all those below 18 years of age to stay with us with the exception of Bhandardara, Kasar Devi, Agra, Jim Corbett, Naukuchiatal, Ramgarh, Tirthan Valley & Kareri till June 30, 2023. Please Note: Guests below the age of 18 are not allowed in the dorm rooms.
Guests with local IDs will be allowed admission to our hostels except for Jodhpur, Mussoorie by The Stream Side, Shangarh, Chikmagalur, Fort Kochi, Coorg and Coorg Madikeri.
Visitor (Non-resident guests) timings: 10 AM to 8 PM only. In case the guest wants to meet the visitor, they can do so in our waiting area or common spaces. Note, visitors are not allowed inside any of the rooms, at any time.
Drugs/Substance/Alcohol abuse is STRICTLY prohibited at all our hostels. In case anyone is found possessing or consuming drugs/alcohol during their stay, strict action shall be taken against him/her and the person would be asked to vacate the hostel immediately and would be blacklisted from staying at our hostels forever.
All our hostels have dedicated smoking areas. Smoking inside the dorms is strictly prohibited.
We cannot guarantee accommodation in the same dorm room in the case of 3 or 4 people travelling together. Allocation of a room in a specific private room category may vary depending on availability. That will strictly be subject to availability until the time of check-in.
All cancellations, if informed 7 days prior to the check-in date, shall be eligible for a 100% refund. In case cancellations happen within 7 days of the check-in date, there wouldn’t be ANY refund and will attract 100% cancellation charges. If the guest doesn’t show up they will be charged the total price of the reservation.
Any and all cancellation requests are attended to by the central reservations team. To cancel your booking, kindly write to them at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please make sure to mention your reservation ID and all relevant details in the same e-mail.
We are a PET-FRIENDLY hostel chain. All our locations with the exception of Mussoorie By The Stream Side, Jaisalmer Sam Sand Dunes, Mukteshwar, Jodhpur, Jeolikote & Lonavala allow pets in private rooms. Please Note: Pets are not allowed in the dorms and guests are fully responsible for the upkeep of their pets and will be liable for any damages caused.
We shall accommodate people as per guidelines issued by the state or the central government and all guests are advised to adhere to it strictly.
We advise our guests to do a pre-arrival check-in to ensure contactless service. We shall be sending pre-arrival check-in emails to all guests.
Our cafes are also sanitized 3 times a day to ensure servicing our guests with freshly prepared food.
