FAQ's
The Hosteller Colive is our long-stay accommodation solution designed for stays of 30 nights or more. It offers fully managed, community-driven housing for travellers, working professionals, students, remote workers and anyone in life transitioning who wants to skip the hassle of furnishing a place, setting up utilities, or hunting for compatible flatmates. This best suits people who want the comfort of a settled home without the friction of traditional leases, no security deposits, no annual contracts, no broker fees, and no setup costs. Colive combines the affordability and social energy of hostel living with the convenience and stability of long-term housing.
Both colive and workation are extended-stay programmes at The Hosteller, but they cater to different travel needs. Workation is designed for stays between 7 and 28 days, which is ideal for short remote-work sprints, extended holidays, or test-driving a new city. Colive is designed for stays of 30 days or more and offers higher affordability, a more stable community, settled daily routines, and a true “home-away-from-home” feel. In short, workation is for a temporary escape, while colive is for settling into a new city.
No. Colive is currently available at select Hosteller properties, primarily across major Indian cities and popular long-stay destinations. The complete list of Colive-enabled hostels is published under the ‘Colive’ tab on our official website (www.thehosteller.com) and is updated regularly as new properties are added to the programme.
Yes, your monthly colive room tariff is fully inclusive of standard utilities. This covers electricity, water, and high-speed Wi-Fi, daily housekeeping, with no separate metering, top-up charges, or end-of-month surprises. Optional services such as laundry, meal plans, and on-demand requests remain chargeable separately.
Colive packages are required to be paid upfront for the booked month in order to secure the discounted long-stay rate. Partial payments or instalment-based payment options are not available.
Lock-in shall be there only for the stay duration for which colive is booked. Guests are free to extend their stay on a month-on-month basis, subject to availability, or move out at the end of their booked package duration. There are no long-term contracts to break and no mandatory notice periods to serve, offering greater flexibility for modern travellers and remote workers.
No. Loyalty coins, coupons, wallet balances, and membership discounts do not apply to colive bookings at The Hosteller, as Colive stays are already offered at specially discounted rates.
Yes, absolutely. A tax-compliant GST invoice can be generated against your colive payment for corporate reimbursement, expense claims, or accounting purposes. Simply share your GST details at the time of check-out, and the invoice will be issued in your company’s name.
Since colive is built around a discounted 30-day package, refunds for early departure are not provided. The discounted rate is offered against the assumption of a full 30-day stay, so partial-stay refunds, unused-night credits, or pro-rated adjustments are not applicable.
Specific roommate selection cannot be guaranteed, as dormitory allocations are managed at the property level based on availability and operational requirements.
Yes. Every dormitory resident is allocated a dedicated personal locker for safe storage of valuables, documents, and belongings. We recommend bringing your own padlock for added security, or else you can purchase locks at the property as well.
At The Hosteller colive properties, all common areas undergo daily housekeeping along with scheduled deep cleaning periodically, to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards. In-room housekeeping frequency may vary depending on the property and room category. Guests can confirm the exact schedule and service details directly with the on-site team after check-in. Additionally, guests may raise housekeeping requests through the Glu platform for assistance or services beyond the standard housekeeping schedule, subject to operational availability.
Yes. Wi-Fi is a core offering at all The Hosteller colive-enabled properties, considering that many colive guests are remote workers, freelancers, digital nomads, and students who rely on stable internet connectivity for work and daily productivity. The network infrastructure is generally designed to support video calls, file transfers, streaming, and other work-related requirements throughout the day. However, internet performance may occasionally vary due to seasonal demand, location-based network limitations, weather conditions, or technical issues associated with the service provider
Self-service guest kitchens are not available at Hosteller properties, as we maintain consistent hygiene and food-safety standards across shared spaces. Instead, most properties feature an in-house café (The Myngl Café), and colivers can opt for affordable monthly meal plans that bring down the per-meal cost significantly compared to one-off orders.
Yes. Dedicated monthly meal plans are available for long-stay colivers. These plans are priced significantly lower than buying meals individually and can be booked when making a colive booking through our official website.
Yes. Anyone with a confirmed booking can have their personal mail, courier packages, and e-commerce deliveries (Amazon, Flipkart, and others) delivered directly to the hostel reception. The reception team will hold your packages until you pick them up, making long-stay logistics far easier than a typical rental.
Pets are welcome only in Private Rooms at our pet-friendly colive properties. Pets are not allowed in dormitories under any circumstances. Pet owners remain fully responsible for the behaviour, hygiene, and supervision of their pets during the stay, and any property damage will be chargeable. Property-level pet policies should be checked before booking.
