Itinerary

How to spend a day in Agra

6:00 AM

We know it would be hard to move out of your cosy bed at The Hosteller Agra, but the rising sun as the backdrop of the glorious Taj is something out of a dream. Enjoy the Taj Mahal at dawn with a hot beverage at our terrace cafe.

7:00 AM

Start early so you get to experience the city at its best. Walk to Bob Marley Cafe and Restaurant, located around 800 metres from our hostel, for a quick but much-needed breakfast.

7:30 AM

Taj Mahal is approximately 2 km from the cafe, so a walk through lanes of Agra on your way would be a cherry on the top, especially if you like street photography or want to capture.

8:00 AM

Reach the Taj Mahal and explore the whole Taj Mahal complex, which includes the Taj Mahal Mausoleum, a Mosque, Mehman Khana, Darwaza-i Rauza, Charbagh, Naqqar Khana, Jilau Khana, Khawasspuras along with Eastern, Western and Southern gate.

Things to do in Agra

Dedicated to Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru who willingly let himself get arrested by Aurangzeb, Gurudwara Guru Ka Taal is built upon a land which was used as a water reservoir for the town. It is built with white marble and red sandstone and is considered one of the most holy places for Sikh community.
Built in Indo-Persian architectural style, Chini Ka Rauza is a mausoleum of Afzal Khan Aalami, a notable Prime Minister to the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The porcelain (chini mitti) used in constructing the monument was imported from China and gets its name from there. It is surrounded by gardens and the structure has a design made out of glazed tiles.
Considered to be one of the oldest Mughal gardens, Ram Bagh was built by Babur, and it was later renovated by Nur Jahan, Mughal Emperor Jehangir’s wife. This beautiful garden has the Islamic architectural style and used to be called Aaram Bagh. The lush greenery and plantations add to the aesthetics of the garden.
Spread across an area of approximately 300 acres on the western banks of river Yamuna, Mehtab Bagh is made in such a way that it lays in perfect symmetry with the Taj Mahal. This beautiful garden is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India and has numerous fountains and walkways you can enjoy.
Home to Mughal Emperor Akbar’s tomb, Sikandra Fort is built with red sandstone. This timeless monumental beauty is surrounded by refreshing and lush green gardens and has a mixture of Islamic and Hindu architectural style. It has high walls which showcase the craftsmanship of the bygone days.
