How to spend a day in Munnar

Next, head to the Mattupetty Dam and Lake, a popular picnic spot located 13 kms from Munnar. Here, take a leisurely walk around the dam, go boating and enjoy scenic views of the surrounding hills.

Things to do in Munnar

Anamudi Peak is the highest peak in South India, with an elevation of 2,695 meters, located in the Eravikulam National Park, about 13 km from Munnar. The trek to the top of Anamudi Peak is challenging (7-8 hours), and it is recommended for experienced trekkers. The trek involves traversing through the grasslands, forests, and rocky terrain of the Western Ghats.
Carmelagiri Elephant Park is a popular tourist destination in Munnar where visitors can interact with the gentle giants of the forest, elephants. At the park, visitors can watch the elephants being bathed and fed by their mahouts and take an elephant ride through the forest. You can also participate in elephant feeding, bathing, and photography activities.
CSI Christ Church is a historic church located in the town of Munnar in the Indian state of Kerala. Built-in 1910 by the British, the church is one of the oldest in the region and is known for its beautiful stained-glass windows and architecture. Visitors are welcome to attend the services and can also take a guided tour of the church to learn more about its history and significance.
Chinnakanal Waterfalls is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a perfect spot for adventure enthusiasts. Rappelling is an adventure sport that involves descending a steep surface using ropes and other climbing equipment. At Chinnakanal Waterfalls, visitors can rappel down a 100-foot cliff and feel the rush of adrenaline as they descend the waterfall.
Marayoor Dolmens are ancient prehistoric structures that date back to the Neolithic era and are considered important archaeological sites in Kerala. The Marayoor Dolmens consists of more than 50 dolmens and are spread across an area of 26 sq. km.
